Whether you were promoted into a supervisory position at your current company or were hired as a supervisor at a new place, knowing how to supervise the work performance of support staff can be the hardest thing to learn. This 3-part series is designed to provide supervisors with the knowledge and skills they need to improve poor staff work performance, support and maintain good staff performance, and help staff enjoy and engage in their work. Throughout the series, you will learn how to take an evidence-based approach to training, supervising, and motivating support staff who work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

This course focuses on introducing evidence-based supervision and performance expectations. It addresses how to make performance expectations clear using specific methods and tools. 

The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) developed this course based on the 3rd edition of The Supervisor Training Curriculum by Green, Reid, and Parsons. The curriculum draws upon more than three decades of applied research on staff training and supervision.
