Roxann MacDonald is a senior manager in a community social service agency and an instructor at Langara College. With nearly 30 years of community services experience, she has directed a diverse array of programs including social housing, crisis phone line, pre-employment, social enterprise, food bank, family counselling, legal advocacy, speech and language services, as well as individual and group work with children who have special needs. Ms. MacDonald has a B.A. in political economy along with a certificate in Administrative Management Systems.

Joanne Granek is a consultant in organizational planning and accountability, community engagement, and leadership development. Joanne has worked in non-profit social services for almost 40 years, including 13 years as executive director of a multi-service organization. Joanne has served on boards of directors and has led many community initiatives related to poverty reduction. She has a Master's Degree in Community Psychology, has trained and worked as a family therapist, and worked and trained others in critical incident debriefing. Joanne is a CARF accreditation surveyor and is currently managing the development of Canadian content for Essential Learning course work while continuing her consulting practice.

Instructor: Helen T. Russell, R.N., BHSc(N)

Helen has an extensive career history in both home health and long term care administration and education. Currently she provides general administration, clinical nursing, and operational consultative services to administration and staff in long term care facilities as well as policy and procedure review and development and learning and development program review and development. She works with local community health organizations to deliver the Stanford University curriculum in Pain Self-Management and in Living a Health Life with Chronic Conditions. In addition, she works with private clients facilitating their process in navigating the home care and long term care admission processes.
