DSPs are often responsible for helping the people they support stay safe at home. To do this, you must know how to recognize and avoid hazards. In this course, you will visit Rosie’s home and help her look for safety problems. You will also help her identify ways she can plan ahead to be safe in her home.
DSPs may work in both private homes and residential service settings such as group homes. In this course, you will learn about safety issues that affect all types of homes. Some of them might not apply to Rosie.
The goal of this course is to introduce DSPs in IDD service settings to home safety needs.
